NBC’s “The Voice” Season 8 Winner Sawyer Fredericks to Perform in the Drury Gymnasium

The Drury Performing Arts Center is proud to announce the appearance of NBC’s “The Voice” Season 8 winner, Sawyer Fredericks on Friday, May 18th at 7 pm for their annual spring gymnasium show.

Sawyer is an 18-year-old authentic, original, Americana artist/singer/songwriter from Connecticut. His original music, melodies, and moving performances have helped attract his growing fanbase, selling out shows across the US. Starting his singing career in New York at farmers markets and open mics, Sawyer’s fame kicked off when he won Season 8 of NBC's “The Voice” in 2015. After winning, he later signed with a record label and released his major debut, A Good Storm, which was written almost entirely himself. After touring and performing at numerous concerts and events, in 2017, Sawyer had once again gone independent and has now been busy crafting more music.

“The class knew immediately that booking Sawyer was a great idea, so many students in our crew loved him on the Voice,” said Yvonne Koperek who works in the DPAM Artist Relations department.

The Drury Performing Arts Management crew (DPAM) is proud to present an artist of this caliber and popularity to the North Adams community, “This is easily the biggest show we’ve done in our five-year history, we’re all really excited.” remarks Abby Smith who is part of the marketing team.

Students of the Drury Church St. Band will open before Frederick’s performance. The band has played in multiple performances at the Drury Performing Arts Center.
